Update 2.0: Flow Pro is now available!

Hello everyone! 👋🏻 We’re excited to announce the release of our major 2.0 update for Flow, which contains many improvements alongside our long-awaited Pro upgrade.

After updating Flow to the latest version, you’ll be able to upgrade to Flow Pro via In-App-Purchase. Flow Pro includes some new additional and advanced features. You can find out more about Flow Pro here. Or have a look at our latest patch notes.

Upgrading to Flow Pro is not mandatory. You’re welcome to continue using Flow in its free version. Every feature that has been available for free so far, will remain free to use. Moreover, we’ll continue our efforts to further improve the free version of Flow as well as keep it updated and compatible with Apple’s constantly changing operating system.

Why we chose a subscription model

We struggled with our decision to offer a subscription model because it’s a rather unpopular pricing model for users and we can understand why. However, it’s often underrated how much work goes into developing an app and keeping it up-to-date. From a developer’s perspective, it’s more often than not unsustainable to offer a one-time purchase and still provide continuous updates, bugfixes, customer support, and new features. We therefore chose to offer an optional Pro version for a small price. We’re grateful for anyone who uses Flow, no matter if it’s Flow or Flow Pro. Thank you for supporting us!

What’s next?

We have a list of features and improvements we plan on implementing for Flow Pro as well as for Flow’s free version. Still, we see Flow’s greatest strength in its simplicity. Therefore, we’ll continue to keep our minimalistic approach in mind when developing new features. You can find out more about our future plans on our roadmap. Alongside these planned additions to Flow for macOS, we’ll now primarily focus on finalizing Flow for iOS, which is currently available for beta testing.
